New Watershed Record and Release Show, Tree Bar Reunion and Rock Candy Live!

Howdy P-Stormers. So much going on. Let’s jump right in with the main headline:

Watershed has a new full length record coming out!

Yup. Twelve tunes on a slab of hot wax guaranteed to knock the corn cobs out of your ears. At some point I will do a deeper dive on the recording process, but for now the only thing you need to know is this:

Pre-sale is open at Kickstarter until May 17th.  With your support you will receive the music before it arrives anywhere for the general public. We feel extremely grateful we met our $ goal in the first 8 hours, but Watershed is famous for aiming low so any extra money will be converted to gasoline so maybe we can hit the road this fall.

Not only do we love this music in these grooves, Biggie did his magic with nifty album artwork and lots of cool little collectibles available only during the presale on Kickstarter.  Give it a look here!

In related news, the Blow It Up Before It Breaks release party will be held at the Rumba Cafe in Columbus, Ohio June 14 & 15. We will be playing an entirely different set each night. Psst…..night one will lean slightly more old school with Herb on drums; night two slightly more recent with Dave but they will both be playing Friday AND Saturday, so IT IS NOT a strictly chronological setlist.

Tickets are going fast so don’t delay if you are serious about attending. Click here for the goods.

Ricki from Nashville, TN opens the show both nights. Click here to check her out on Spotify

Other music news:

Little Rock Bar will be hosting an Andyman’s Tree Bar Treebar takeover May 14th through May 19th. All kinds of fun events will be happening to celebrate the memory of this once iconic Columbus dive bar/music venue.

Along with other musicians who once did a residency at Andyman’s (I  played every Wednesday for about a year) I will be playing at Little Rock Thursday, May 16th.

And I will be playing with the band Rock Candy for the You Matter Benefit at Natalie’s Sunday, May 19th. We will be doing a short set of Montrose songs. Yes, we will be playing “Bad Motor Scooter,” and we are on at 8:45.  Sadly, Ronnie Montrose took his own life, so you see the connection to the event. Click here for tickets and more info.

Sports! After a few years off, I have returned to my assistant coach position for Grandview 7th grade baseball. A good friend of mine has been the long-time head coach so it was time for me to jump back in and help whip this squad into shape. My son had the benefit of many great coaches growing up, so with him off at college it’s my turn to return the favor to other kids. I am definitely the wing man in this situation but I can throw BP, coach first base, and attempt to keep the dugout loose when we are on the receiving end of a run-rule loss.

Colin’s Coffee. Things are rolling along at our new location inside The Daily Growler (2812 Fishinger Rd, 43221). Open everyday until noon. I am there pretty much everyday but…I have to see a guy about some stuff starting May 6th, so I am going to be off the grid for a bit. Hopefully catch you at one of these shows.

Ricki opening both nights for Watershed at the Rumba Cafe June 14/15.

The Rock Candy featuring Scott Carr, Mike Lovins, Dave Masica & myself will be playing this tune and a few more at Natalie’s Sunday, May 19th at 8:30 pm.

So much good new music. This has been getting heavy airplay at Colin’s Coffee.

Meanwhile, this has been getting heavy airplay at home on Youtube after 6 beers on Saturday night.
