Here’s a retrospective collection of the songs I posted to Facebook during the first two months of Corona Virus-induced quarantine. They were filmed in the sun-room of my house, temporarily dubbed “Studio B” for the series. Most are covers, some are requests, none are perfect. Grab a cold one, turn it up, and enjoy!
I’ve been picking this Soul Asylum song from their “Made To Be Broken” album for about 35 years. Seemed as good a place as any to start.
I learned this song off my dad’s John Denver album, and it’s always been my favorite Prine tune. As fitting a tribute as I can offer.
Haters gonna hate. Whatever. It’s a near-perfectly written song, and a bitch to sing.
The newest song in the bunch, about a witness to the murder of a little boy in France in 1984 who later recanted her testimony, allegedly due to pressure from her family. .
Another request - this one for my friend Alessandra, who wanted to hear something from “Dynasty.”
A request from Jonna, a difficult tune to learn and sing, but a lot of fun. A great, hooky, powerpop song that got me out of my comfort zone a little bit.

This cover was requested by Melaney from Downriver Detroit. A tough song to make my own but a fun exersize in genre exploring.
By the end of May, the sessions seemed to have run their course. I wrapped up the series with this request from Mike in Detroit who I’ve known forever. Soon after, Studio B was dismantled.
This was the first song I did during quarantine, for the NPR Tiny Desk Concert series. It was originally released on my “1987” ep and a true story.
My favorite Watershed song, maybe because it’s one of the two that I played on, maybe because it’s about day drinking. Had to tweak the arrangement and the key.
I’ve been a Meices fan since the beginning and always liked this poppy, strum-along tune.
True stories about the things I’ve lost on the road. This was a call to benefit the V-Club in Huntington, WV, where the first verse takes place.
I started playing this song a year before the quarantine on some solo-acoustic runs. Always a crowd pleaser. It was a request from TrooperGirl22.
This Long Ryders Request for Burk and Nicole in the land of 10,000 lakes. Great tune from the Tucos setlist a few years back.
This old Chutes & Ladders song was requested by Laura in Northern Michigan, who was there in the early years. Written in a roach-infested efficiency apartment in Ypsilanti by a kid who was listening to a lot of Social Distortion.
This was originally written for SlugBug, first done by Clashback (before we were called that and only did Clash songs) but eventually recorded by The OffRamps, and a request from Kathy in San Diego.
This was shot for the GTG Records “Staying Home With GTG” series and recorded in my basement studio by Calichrimatik. I love being part of the GTG family and their constant drive to keep the music flowing.
