Friday Bet$ For Realz
Your Pencil Storm prognosticators are back for another season of Friday bets for real. These are actual bets placed by actual people. However, it is important to remember that we are not encouraging you to follow our lead and gamble your hard-earned money away on our behalf. But it is also important to remember that “winners play and players win, baby!” Ok, let’s do this.

I like Northwestern to cover the 28.5 vs Ohio State. The Buckeyes have two huge matchups looming to end the season vs Indiana and TTUN so they might be looking past the mildcats. Also, the game is being played at Wrigley Field which is set up poorly/dangerously for a football game. How was this approved? Oh yeah…$$. There is literally a brick wall at the edge of one end zone so I don’t see the Buckeyes calling any red zone fades to freshman phenom Jeremaih Smith. And… the game kicks at 11 am local time. So early.
Update: I was late getting my bet in and as I was trying to get NW at +28.5 , they got a couple first downs so suddenly I got OSU -20.5 instead. Live betting !
OG (Baller, Sharp)
Justin Tucker over 1.5 FG vs Steelers
Kansas City Chiefs to cover. The head ref will make the difference in this one.

#21 Ohio State +4.5 vs. #23 Texas A&M - College Basketball I've seen enough to know the Buckeyes will be a menace to society this year. They play with a refreshing intensity and it's the most athletic team we've had in ages. Just watch freshman phenom Juni Mobley Jr. play and tell me you're not in. A&M opened the season with a loss to Central Florida and may not be as good as advertised, even at home. NBA Futures The Cavs are 13-0 heading into an NBA Cup matchup on Friday. They have somehow quickly figured it out under new head coach Kenny Atkinson and no one in the NBA wants any right now. As my friend said, 13 down, 85 to go. Here's what we're looking at in terms of Cavs futures. NBA Champions - +1500 NBA Finals - +650 NBA Cup Winner - +800 (if you can't wait that long)

It’s been a couple weeks since the last Bet$ and let’s just say that I haven’t been betting on Michigan lately and there’s virtually zero chance I’ll win my “Winner of the Big 10” bet even if they go undefeated from here out, which they will not. Oh well, here’s to rebuilding, I guess. I bet on Kent State to cover +28.5 on Wednesday because I just couldn’t help myself, and that’s what I get for the lack of discipline. Same spread for OSU over Northwestern, and I’m a little more inclined to take Texas over Arkansas at -13.5.
AMERICA’S TEAM The Detroit Lions, however, have been kicking all kinds of ass, and while they did not cover Sunday night against Texas, I danced around the room when they won and will gladly lose that bet for the W any day. Will they cover -14 this Sunday against Carolina with Trevor Lawrence out? Probably, they under-performed against Texas and were lucky to scrape by, and new guy Za'Darius Smith (thanks Cleveland!) will make his debut in the Honolulu Blue, filling the gap Aidan Hutchinson left (that hasn’t cost them an L yet), but that seems like a lot. We’ll see, I’ll most likely take it.
AMERICA’S FORMER TEAM, The Dallas Cowboys, have been PURE GOLD for me this season, consistently losing against the spread week after week. I will continue that trend this Monday against the Texans, who did not look bad at all against Detroit last week.
And TONIGHT! I’ve got Tyson to kick that punk’s ass, but that’s betting with my heart, as I don’t think he’s going to win. Should be fun either way.

Couple picks: Wazzu -10 1/2 at New Mexico. Think 50-30. Lobos may actually give up 60.
Air Force +120 home to Oregon State. AF much improved with qb switch. Beavs helpless against the run. Falcons ran it 80 times last week. Oh oh.
